Abcom SOE PC
The eProphet.NET Store System runs on a PC running the Abcom Standard Operating Environment. The Abcom SOE PC is a Windows XP Professional desktop computer that is 'locked down' to the standard store user account. This ensures that the PC is not tampered with or compromised in any way by store employees, thereby protecting your investment. The SOE also helps to ensure Abcom can provide the best level of technical support as this eliminates a massive range of system setup issues that might have to be contended with on an 'open' PC.

Hardware Requirements
The Abcom SOE PC is normally a small footprint IBM business grade computer. Abcom customises this PC, pre-installs software and installs/supplies the PC to the site. These PC's are backed by an on-site warranty and Abcom also provides partial hardware troubleshooting for these standard PC's.

Should you wish to source a PC from a local supplier or otherwise not purchase the hardware through Abcom, Abcom can also provide exact hardware specs on request. Although in such a scenario, hardware problems and warranties would be handled by the supplier from which you purchased the equipment. It is important to note that the Abcom SOE must be installed on a PC even if it is not supplied by us.

Custom Interfaces
Normally the eProphet.NET PC requires dedicated connections to the POS and/or the Timeclock. The physical ports required are finalised during customisation testing and are integrated into the standard PC setup for your environment.

Communications Access
The store requires a broadband internet connection accessible by the eProphet.NET SOE PC. This is a requirement for certain aspects of the software to function (such as electronic invoices download, central file maintenance) and also for Abcom Technical Support to be able to remotely connect to your store PC to help troubleshoot any incidents.
